Two Medford Rogues players — Cole Carder and Riley Kasper — were selected to the Great West League all-star first team following a vote of the league managers.

GWL champion Chico dominated the voting, with seven first-team selections and 13 players on the top two teams.

Eleven Rogues were on the first and second teams or received honorable mention.

Carder, an outfielder who starred at South Medford High, was sixth in the league in hitting with a .349 batting average over 44 games. He had six home runs and 34 RBIs while scoring 50 runs — second in the GWL — and stealing 14 bases.

Kasper, also an outfielder, hit .324 with 30 runs, 21 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

Second-team selections for Medford were designated hitters Tanner Cantwell (.375) and Mitchell Neunborn (.291) and starting pitchers Tanner Simpson (3-2, 3.57 ERA) and Bobby Voortmeyer (2-3, 3.58).

Rogues players receiving honorable mention were Tommy Ahlstrom, Blake Baumgartner, Kolby Button, Cole Elvis and Gabe Smith.

Thirteen players received votes from every manager, but no one received a No. 1 vote from each manager.

The player, pitcher and manager of the year will be announced today.
