Geraghty scores four wins at state meet

    SPRINGFIELD — Eleanor Geraghty of the Superior Stingrays Swim Club won four events last weekend in the 10-and-under state championships.

    Geraghty’s performance in the 9-under girls division was highlighted by the 200- and 100-yard freestyles, where she secured qualifying times for the Pacific Northwest Regionals by winning in 2 minutes, 19.53 seconds, and 1:05.70, respectively.

    Geraghty also won the 100 butterfly (1:21.65) and 50 free (30.45), and placed third in the 200 individual medley (2:54.58) and 50 fly (34.51).

    The Stingrays’ Julia Slaughter finished third and qualified for regionals in the 100 backstroke in 1:14.24 in the 10-under girls division.

    Brienne Chamberland (8U Girls): 4th, 25 breast, 22.39; 8th, 50 breast, 50.14; 13th, 25 free, 17.92.

    Eleanor Geraghty (9U Girls): 1st, 200 free, 2:19.53; 1st, 100 fly, 1:21.65; 1st, 50 free, 30.45; 1st, 100 free, 1:05.70; 3rd, 200 I.M., 2:54.58; 3rd, 50 fly, 34.51.

    Julia Slaughter (10U Girls): 3rd, 100 back, 1:14.24; 7th, 50 free, 30.70; 7th, 100 free, 1:07.05; 9th, 200 freestyle, 2:26.82; 19th, 100 I.M., 1:21.30.

    Liam Lavelle (9U Boys): 6th, 200 free, 2:39.85; 9th, 100 free, 1:15.52; 10th, 50 free, 33.56; 13th, 100 I.M., 1:30.54; 15th, 50 fly, 40.42.

    Alex Titianu (10U Boys): 13th, 50 fly, 36.33; 16th, 100 free, 1:10.25; 17th, 50 free, 31.73; 19th, 50 breast, 44.86.
