Kendall and Kathryn Adams of Medford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29, 2013.
Kendall Adams married Kathryn Hildebrand on Dec. 29, 1963, at the Martha Mary Chapel of Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Mich.
They met in East Lansing, Mich. in January 1961, three days before Kathryn left for two years in the Far East with the Red Cross Service to Military Families program. She returned to Michigan in January 1963.
After they married, the couple lived for a year and a half in Tempe, Ariz., before moving to Southern Illinois, where they lived for 32 years. Kendall attended Oregon State University and Michigan State University, and is a retired marketing professor from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He is also a Navy veteran. Kathryn attended Western Michigan University, and retired as an administrative assistant with the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce.
The couple moved to Medford in July 2010.
