Raw video released in Eagle Point police shooting
One day after a split grand jury ruled Eagle Point police Officer Daniel Cardenas' shooting of 33-year-old Matthew Graves on Sept. 19 was justified, the Jackson County District Attorney's Office has released Cardenas' raw bodycam video.
The bodycam falls to the ground during a struggle that lasts roughly a minute from police's first contact with Graves to Cardenas firing two shots into Graves' upper back on the bathroom floor at Carl's Jr.
The other officer who responded, C.J. Davis, was also cleared by Wednesday's grand jury. An internal Eagle Point investigation determined both officers followed policies and procedures.
The video ends with Graves being dragged outside where paramedics could attend to him.
VIEWER WARNING: The Mail Tribune has opted to provide the full video and transcript of Graves' shooting unedited. The footage contains graphic violence and profanity and may be unsettling for some viewers.
