Autopsy: Stab wounds caused man's death

GRANTS PASS — A 25-year-old man found dead near a city park early Monday was stabbed to death, an autopsy has revealed.

Wayne Alex Brueggemann, 25, who had no permanent address, was found dead by a person walking a dog at about 6:30 a.m Monday on Northwest F Street, near Menegazzi Garden Park.

The autopsy conducted Wednesday revealed he died from multiple stab wounds. The investigation is continuing.

Investigators also have seized a vehicle with blood on it found at a location blocks away from the park, said Grants Pass Public Safety Department Commander Laura Zeliff. While they don't know if the vehicle is linked to the murder, it has been taken to the state crime lab in Central Point to be evaluated.

Anyone with information regarding Brueggemann or the circumstances surrounding his death is asked to call Detective Jim Brissette at the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety at 474-6370.
