    St. Mark’s Episcopal Church

    On Friday, Dec. 1, the Watoto Children’s Chorus from Uganda will perform at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Oakdale Ave., Medford. The concert is free.     The Havurah Synagogue 

    The Havurah Synagogue, 185 N. Mountain Ave., Ashland, will host Michael Sasnow, guest teacher from Portland, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, for Kabbalat Shabbat Service. Sasnow, a music-thanatologist, will co-lead with Rabbi David Zaslow, a call-and-response style prayer service incorporating meditative chants and high energy melodies.     From 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12, Cyrise Beatty Schachter will teach songs and rhythms from the Jewish traditions of Spain, the Middle East and North Africa. The musical lineages of the Sephardic and Mizrahi traditions are varied and rich. No singing or drumming experience necessary. The class costs $10 to $20 on a sliding scale.     Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church
