    George and Lois Zentgraf

    George William and Lois Elaine Zentgraf celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a gathering of friends and family for a backyard barbecue hosted by their children.

    George Zentgraf married Lois Huseth Aug. 4, 1945, in Whapeton, N.D.  They have six children, Kathryn Aguirre (husband Fred) of Central Point, James Zentgraf (wife Lorraine) of Medford, Jon Zentgraf of Cypress, Calif., Karol Cartmill (husband John) of Central Point, Joseph Zentgraf (wife Dana) of Lake Elsinore, Calif., and Kristine Zentgraf of Long Beach, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

    George worked as a typographer, car salesman and a newspaper distribution manager. Lois was employed as a waitress and a parts purchasing clerk for a naval shipyard.

    The couple lived in Minnesota, Texas and Southern California while raising their six children, and retired to Central Point in 1986. George is a World War II veteran who served as a Navy Seabee in the Solomon Islands. Lois was very active in their church, and was involved in several parent organizations for their children. The couple are longtime members of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, where George belongs to the Knights of Columbus.
