Ashland Boy Scout Troop 112 holds its 60th annual Christmas Tree Sale from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in the Elks Lodge parking lot at Lithia Way and First Street in downtown Ashland.

The sale supports the troop’s activities throughout the year. This year the sale features both farmed Douglas fir trees and also “wild” trees hand-cut by Troop 112 scouts.

Scouts will be on hand to help with tree selection, carrying it to customer vehicles and to tie it on top if needed.

This marks the 60th year of holding a tree sale, going back all the way to 1958. Boy Scout Troop 112 was first chartered in 1915 and is the oldest Boy Scout Troop in the state of Oregon.

After the holidays, Christmas tree recycling is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 5. Have your tree curbside on the night of Friday, Jan. 4. The recycling is a joint effort by Troop 112 and the Ashland Lions Club in conjunction with the city of Ashland Parks and Recreation Department.
