Lecture in the spirit of MLK Jr.

The last Poor People’s Campaign lecture this year starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland.

Kyle Hardman will give a lecture on the nature of a war economy and ecological devastation.

The Poor People’s Campaign was started by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to “save the moral soul of America by challenging racism, poverty, war and ecological devastation.”

Linden Crouch, Social Justice and Action Committee member, said the group wants to create a movement in Southern Oregon.

The lecture lasts about an hour, with time for questions afterwards.

Hardman is a Southern Oregon native and Southern Oregon University alumnus. He has a doctorate in cognitive psychology and is a social critic, scientific moralist and democratic socialist.
