Instead of celebrating with the traditional cake, ice cream and birthday gifts, Ruby and her friends are choosing — for the fourth year in a row — to celebrate Ruby’s birthday by picking up curry combs, hoof picks and dandy brushes to groom as many of the 57 Equamore horses as they can in one day.

The public is invited to sponsor the young women and visit with the horses from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Equamore Sanctuary, 4723 Highway 66, Ashland. All money raised will benefit the Equamore Foundation.
