'Lunar Eclipse Over Mount Shasta' by Sean Bagshaw. Bagshaw used more than 20 separate images taken during a six-hour total lunar eclipse in 2007 to recreate the celestial event in one image.

Sean Bagshaw

Ashland photographer Sean Bagshaw is one of three photographers selected by Outdoor Photography Magazine to be featured in the magazine's August 2008 Landscape Photography Special Issue. Outdoor Photography is published by Werner Publishing Corporation and is the largest magazine in the U.S. dedicated to outdoor photography with an annual circulation of more than 2.3 million.

The magazine often features the work of many famous photographers who have inspired Bagshaw, such as Ansel Adams, Galen Rowell and Art Wolfe. The honor of being selected was made more special by the fact that the magazine sought out Bagshaw without him submitting any of his work.

Bagshaw, who is a 1992 graduate of Ashland High School, shows his photographs at Ashland Artisan Gallery. His work also may be viewed at outdoorexposurephoto.com. The article about Bagshaw may be viewed at http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/locations/north-america/a-new-look-at-the-landscape.
