The Ashland Gallery Association organizes art walks the First Friday of every month in downtown Ashland, the Railroad District and surrounding areas.
On Friday, Nov. 3, participating galleries and studios will be open until 8 p.m. to unveil new exhibits and host art receptions. Most artists will be on hand to discuss their work and techniques. Some galleries host live music and art demonstrations during the event. Art walk maps are available at any of the venues.
Painter Leif Trygg will showcase landscapes painting in acrylic and pastel at his Oak Leaf Studio in Ashland's historic Railroad District.
Photographer Julie Bonnie will present "Into the Woods," an exhibit of images that explore the mystery of the natural beauty of Southern Oregon and Northern California, at Photographers' Gallery.
Hanson Howard Gallery will host Photo Cascadia, a team of seven photographers. Erin Babnik, Sean Bagshaw, David Cobb, Adrian Klein, Kevin McNeal, Chip Phillips and Zack Schnetf hail from the Cascadia region, a geographic region bounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains. The team works together to explore landscapes and promote creative expression through outdoor experiences. The group publishes a weekly blog, leads tours and teaches photography workshops around the world.
Glass artist Stef Steffinger will display colorful, handmade pieces at Nimbus, and Sandy Cathcart will show her oil on canvas paintings at Pony Espresso and Washington Federal Band.
