Wine Without Reason

After sitting on the music-scene sidelines for more than 30 years, singer and songwriter Scott Calamar decided to let his repertoire out of the closet. Aside from an occasional open mic, Calamar hasn't played publicly since his college days. However, he was diligent about songwriting and amassed a repertoire of more than 200 songs, some dating back to the 1970s.

In August 2010, Calamar, who plays keyboard and acoustic guitar, formed Wine Without Reason, composed of drummer Kevin McKern, bassist Bruce McKern, guitarist Dan Fellman and electric violinist Pegi Smith. (Guitarist Joe Diehl was part of the group's original lineup but has recently moved on to other projects.)

Wine Without Reason will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Paschal Winery, 1122 Suncrest Road, Talent. Bring picnic dinners, and enjoy the concert from the lawn or deck.
