Modern country singer, songwriter and guitarist Eilen Jewell and her band will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at Hilltop Music Shop, 205 N. Phoenix Road, in The Shoppes at Exit 24, Phoenix. Called queen of the minor key, Jewell’s originals are a blend of influences from early blues, rockabilly and surf-noir. ‘The White Liars’ and ‘Black Comedy’
Two one-act farces by Peter Shaffer promise lots of laughs as characters deal with one awkward situation after another. “Liars” follows rock star Frank, his business manager Tom, and a fortune-teller as they try to get one over on each other. “Black Comedy” finds a struggling artist and his fiance throwing a party to impress her bombastic father. Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, June 14-16, and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Randall Theatre, 10 E. Third St., Medford. Tickets are $20, $17 on Thursday.

Ashland City Band
The community band, conducted by Don Beighler, will perform selections from Broadway musicals, original works for band and more at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21, in the Butler Band Shell in Ashland’s Lithia Park. Pre-concert music will be performed by Dixieland at 6:15 p.m. Bench seating will be available, or visitors can bring blankets or low-level chairs. Admission is free.
