Southern Oregon Lavender Festival
The festival, which takes place over two weekends, June 22-24 and July 13-15, includes three stops on the Southern Oregon Lavender Trail. Lavender Fields Forever, 375 Hamilton Road, Jacksonville, will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on festival days. Visitors can pick their own bouquets from pink, white and purple varieties. The English Lavender Farm and gift shop, 8040 Thompson Creek Road, Applegate, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. OSU’s Lavender Garden, 569 Hanley Road, Central Point, has more than 80 varieties of lavender and will be open for self-guided tours.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist and flutist Shybo Torres will host the Southern Oregon Songwriters’ open mic at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Pony Espresso, 545 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville. Torres was a fixture in the songwriters’ association in the ‘90s and now plays regularly on the Rogue Valley music scene. The jam session is open to anyone with original songs. It’s free to play, free to listen.
Lance Canales and the Flood
This roots-blues trio plays the music of the labor camps and one-room shacks of California’s breadbasket at 8 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Grizzly Peak Winery, 1600 E. Nevada St., Ashland.
