Jerry Corley performs Friday and Saturday nights, May 25-26, at Chadwick's Pub. - Tribblerun Comedy Network

Bringin' the laughs

Jerry Corley uses his humor to bridge the gaps that separate all of us.

"We've got to learn to make fun of ourselves and each other," he says on his video clip on YouTube. "Make fun of the gays, the blacks, the Jews and the Christians. Just do it with love and joy."

Corley's been writing and performing comedy for 17 years. No topic or person is free from ridicule as he gets to work shattering the political correctness barrier during his shows.

According to Corley, the only people that it seems politically correct to bash are white.

Corley will perform at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 25-26, at Chadwick's Pub, 2300 Biddle Road, Medford.

Rob Rose will open the shows at Chadwick's. Rose spent the last 12 years as one half of the stand-up comedy team Jake and Rob. Nowadays he is going it alone. Admission costs $5. Call 282-2122.

Jason Resler will perform at 9 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Ground Zero, 123 S. Front St., Medford.

Don't let his youthful grin fool you, Resler is a whiz at deadpan cynicism, and he finds comedy in everyday life experiences.

Resler has been working in the comedy biz since about 1990, and he was ranked among America's top touring comedians by the Entertainment Business Journal. His debut comedy album, "Road Comic," can be heard on XM Satellite Radio.

Comedian Jack Soren will open the show at Ground Zero. Admission costs $5 and includes a buffet-style dinner. Call 779-4827.
