"Dancing With a Muse," a comprehensive collection of artwork by members of Rogue Gallery & Art Center, will be featured through Aug. 14 at the gallery, 40 N. Bartlett St., Medford.

"It isn't a theme about dancing," clarifies Heather Crow, the gallery's development director. "It's really asking 'What have you been moved to create?' "

Out of nearly 500 gallery members, 119 professional and hobby artists responded to the call for art and submitted work for display. The exhibit comprises landscapes, still life, portraits, abstract, print-making, sculpture, fabric wall hangings and jewelry, as well as gourd-making and basketry. Artists, guided by a muse, were free to create as they pleased, constrained only by size, no more than 75 pounds or 3 feet in any direction. "Dancing With a Muse" is the gallery's first members' exhibition.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Call 541-772-8118 or see www.roguegallery.org.
