Spartans tie Totems

SEATTLE — The Southern Oregon Spartans were unable to hold on to a first period lead and tied the Seattle Totems 3-3 on Friday night in Western States Hockey League Northwest Division action.

Joel Holmberg and Mason Cooper each had a goal and two assists, Joseph Ryan added pair of assists and Yanneck Kumli chipped in one goal for the Spartans, who led 3-2 after the opening frame.

Austin Toussaint had 15 saves in goal to take the loss for Southern Oregon, which was outshot by Seattle 18-15 for the contest.
