WHITE CITY — Points leaders David Hibbard and David Steele captured their fifth wins of the season in their respective divisions on Saturday at the Southern Oregon Speedway.
Hibbard, who started the Kendall Oil Winged Sprint Car main event in third, made his move into second on the eighth lap with an inside pass on Charlie Thompson. Two laps later, Hibbard made a similar move to take the lead from Jeffrey Hudson for good. Hudson finished in second while Blaine Cory took third, Thompson fourth and Bailey Hibbard fifth
After taking the Mini Stock heat and trophy dash, Steele went wire-to-wire in the main event for his fifth victory of the season. Steele finished ahead of Steve Goetz, Kristopher Mix, Garrett Fredrickson and Hunter Magnan.
Debuting his new car, points leader Nathan Augustine added to his total by winning the main event Late Model class. Augustine fought off John Dees to score his second win of the season.
Dees took second, followed by Bob Dees, Dave Foote and Miles Deubert.
Tim Hedges moved ahead of Zach Nelson on the second lap and won his first JOAT Labs Hornets main event of the year. Bree Tritchler took second, followed by Nelson, Dylan Irving, Dylan Sauer and Saundra Hattrick.
