PORTLAND — The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired guard Von Wafer from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for guard Taurean Green.

Wafer, a three-year veteran, averaged 1.3 points, 0.5 rebounds, 0.2 assists and 4.3 minutes in 21 games with the Nuggets this season.

Green, a rookie, was selected by the Trail Blazers with the 52nd overall pick out of Florida.

He played in eight games for the Blazers this season, averaging 2.1 points in 5.5 minutes. He averaged 19.3 points and 9.8 assists in four games with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Developmental League.

"We want to thank Taurean Green and wish him all the best for the future, which I think will be a bright one in this league," Blazers general manager Kevin Pritchard said in a statement. "We had a positional need to fill with some of the injuries we're having to endure and with Von Wafer we think we're getting a player who can provide us with some offensive firepower."

Portland's 3-point specialist James Jones is resting a sore left knee, and the Blazers have missed his play off the bench.
