Elliott takes 15th at Nike BorderClash

BEAVERTON — Crater junior Josh Elliott finished 15th to lead all Oregon boys, while fellow Comet Kayleigh Tyerman finished 13th on the girls side at the Nike BorderClash 4,400-meter run.

Elliott, who won this season's Class 5A state championship in cross country, ran in a time of 14 minutes, 36.87 seconds. Hidden Valley's Connor Kasler was the only other Oregon runner to finish in the top 20, coming in right behind Elliott in 16th with a time of 14:37.94.

Andrew Kimpel of Spokane, Wash. finished first with a time 14:07.30, more than two seconds ahead of the next finisher. Drew Jordan of North Medford finished in 34th place with a time of 15:00.41. Phoenix senior Elliott Jantzer took 22nd with a time of 14:47:12.

Crater senior Zach Elliott, Josh's older brother, finished in 43rd place with a time of 15:04.46.

Tyerman finished with a time of 17:07.22, 40 second behind the winner Taylor Wallace.

Wallace, a senior at Henley, finished with a time of 16:27:27.
