Roundup: Crusaders ride hat tricks to win

SUTHERLIN — Meghan Michels had three goals and three assists and Maddie Wheelock had three goals and two assists as St. Mary’s trounced a dangerous Sutherlin team 7-1 on the road in nonconference girls soccer action Friday.

Emma Bennion added one goal and one assist for the Crusaders (3-1), who have won three in a row since dropping their season opener.

“I was very pleased with the girls’ outing,” St. Mary’s head coach Dave Potter said.

Sutherlin’s Megan Carrillo scored late in the first half to help the Bulldogs (3-2) avoid the shutout.

Boys Soccer

PAISLEY 7, ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 1: Paisley rolled to the District 5 victory at U.S. Cellular Community Park, dropping the Hawks to 0-2-1 overall and in league play.

Paisley improved to 2-1.

Prep Volleyball

ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 3, PAISLEY 1: Rogue Valley Adventist earned its fifth win in a row to improve to 7-1 overall, 5-1 in the Mountain Valley League.

RVA won 25-19, 25-19, 24-26, 26-24.
