Casebier, Challengers honored with SCH awards

Cascade Christian senior setter Haley Casebier was named the Southern Cascade Hybrid player of the year and four of her teammates were named to the first team.

Meghan Higday, Mackenzie Kelton, Karlee Britton, Courtney Case and Casebier were first-teams selections for the Challengers, who finished 17-7 overall and won the league with an 8-0 record.

Cascade Christian lost to eventual champion Burns in the Class 3A state quarterfinals.

St. Mary's Alexi Provost-Shean, Nina Console and Elizabeth Pentland were first-team picks.

Casebier was also named the setter of the year, while Case — a junior libero — was chosen as the defensive player of the year. Cascade Christian's Rob Kleker was given coach of the year honors.
