Camp's pitching lifts Colts

The South Medford Colts ran their winning streak to five with a 10-0, five-inning victory in the opening game of an American Legion A Area 4 Southern Division doubleheader against the Grants Pass Diggers at Harry and David Field Tuesday.

Grants Pass won Game 2, 7-2.

Josh Camp pitched four shutout innings in the opener for the Colts. Camp allowed just two hits and struck out four. Mitchell Britton preserved the shutout with one inning of relief.

"Josh (Camp) has a good assortment of pitches," said South Medford coach Tom Britton. "He has a real good curveball and that sets up his fastball."

South Medford (7-7, 6-6 Area 4) put together three doubles to score three runs in the second inning. Mark Smith got things going with a one-out double. Isaac Rolie knocked Smith home with a double and one out later Bret Reordan delivered an RBI double. Brandon Dollarhide completed the rally with an RBI single.

Reordan had two hits, three RBIs and two runs.
