Bol nabs co-medalist honors for South

Guided by first-time medalist Brandon Bol, the South Medford boys golf team wrapped up third place Wednesday at the South Medford Invitational at Centennial Golf Club.

Sharing the day's low score with Roseburg's Brad Seehawer, Bol carded a 5-over-par 77 and the Panthers shot 338 as a team, 17 strokes off Grants Pass' winning total of 321.

The South Medford girls also wrapped up third place with a score of 422. Ryann Cuthbertson's 91 paced the Panthers followed by Marie Cox's 106.

Bol's finally tally might have been lower but a few birdie putts didn't go his way.

Also for South Medford, Matt Spivey penciled in an 84 and Malcolm McGeary shot 86.

Consistency put Grants Pass over the top after Jake Amber led with a 79, Collin Fuller shot 80 and Cody Stoffel and David Connelly each recorded 81s.

Molly Roy was medalist for the girls with an 88, leading Roseburg to first place.
