ASHLAND — Ashland benefited from strong combination play and defeated Roseburg, 3-0, in nonconference boys soccer Thursday.
The Grizzlies got two goals from Zahara Moyers-Cullumbine and a goal and an assist from Diego Harrison in raising its record to 3-4-1.
Moyers-Cullumbine tallied in the 37th minute, and the score didn't budge until Harrison, with an assist from Andres Garcia, tallied in the 66th minute.
Moyers-Cullumbine added a score in the 76th minute off a feed from Harrison.
ROSEBURG 2, ASHLAND 1 — At Roseburg, Roseburg got goals from Brooke Strawn and Beka Lofstedt in the nonconference match.
The goal for Ashland (4-3-1) came in the 69th minute from Aspen Wolff on an assist from Faci Graham, pulling the Grizzlies to within 2-1.
Strawn scored on a penalty kick in the 20th minute after Claire Ibarra was taken down in the box.
Lofstedt fired in a shot from a tight angle to the far post in the 56th minute. Strawn was credited with the assist on a through ball.
Roseburg (5-2) had 16 shots, including nine on goal. Ashland had three shots and made good on the only one on goal.
