Video: Book it! Fosbury meets Medford fans

Olympic champion high jumper Dick Fosbury and Bob Welch, the author of his book, "The Wizard of Foz," attracted a crowd at Rogue Regency Inn and Suites in Medford tonight for a reception and book signing.

Fosbury, a 1965 Medford High graduate, won the 1968 gold medal in Mexico City with a jump of 7-4 1/4 inches. At the time, it was an Olympic and American record.

Fosbury signed books as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of his achievement. He'll be in Corvallis this weekend for the unveiling of a sculpture of him at OSU and to attend the Beavers' football game against Cal.
