Third-period rally lifts Totems over Spartans

The Seattle Totems scored two third-period goals and squeezed past the Southern Oregon Spartans, 6-5, in the Western States Hockey League Saturday at The RRRink.

Cameron Waisman of the Totems tied the score at 5-5 with a goal at the 12:59 mark of the third, then Braden Sanchez put Seattle ahead at 7:42.

Waisman and Michael Shippee had two goals each for Seattle.

Matej Valicek scored twice for Southern Oregon, which dropped to 9-18-0-1. Other goals by the Spartans were by Rhys Cottle, Axel Low and Eric Vanderhoff. Vanderhoff also had two assists.

Seattle is 17-9-1-2.
