Secciani's bat sparks RiverDawgs in rout of Humboldt Steelheads

Kyle Secciani continued his recent hot streak at the plate and Marcus James had a view from every angle on the field as the Southern Oregon RiverDawgs pounded the Humboldt Steelheads 15-4 in an amateur baseball game on Sunday at Harry & David Field.

Secciani hit a three-run home run in the third — his second on the season — and went 2-for-2 with six RBIs to give him seven hits in his last seven at-bats. During the recent, three-game stretch, Secciani has upped his batting average from .284 to .328.

James, who has played with the RiverDawgs the last five seasons, played every position on the field. The left-hander also went 2-for-5 with two runs.

Chris Bradshaw added three hits in five at-bats with four runs and three RBIs for Southern Oregon (14-19), while Jonah Northrup was 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs and Brian Hayden was 3-for-5.

The RiverDawgs wrap up the regular season with a key three-game series against the Nevada Bighorns, with the winner advancing to the playoffs as the No. 4 team from the WCL Tri-State League.
