KLAMATH FALLS — Home runs by Cole Carder, James Bell and Tommy Ahlstrom, and a clutch go-ahead two-run double by Kody Garvin in the top of the ninth inning pushed the Rogues over the Klamath Falls Gems, 10-6, in Great West League action Thursday at Kiger Stadium.
Ahlstrom hit a game-tying three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning. His big hit occurred not long after Rogues pitcher Michael Moore induced a double play with the bases loaded and nobody out to Medford native and Gems’ cleanup hitter Travis Danielson. Moore then struck out Aki Buckson to end the threat.
Klamath Falls native and Henley High School alum Darren Brown pitched three scoreless innings of relief, striking out six, to pick up the win.
The Rogues (19-15) will return home to kick-off a weekend series with the Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox tonight.
Klamath Falls fell to 15-18.
