RiverDogs to join West Coast League

The Southern Oregon RiverDogs amateur baseball team will merge with the West Coast League Tri-State, a five-team summer collegiate wood-bat league, beginning next summer announced WCL president Ken Wilson.

Joining the RiverDogs will be the Humboldt (Calif.) Crabs, Redding (Calif.) Colt .45s, Folsom (Calif.) Pioneers and Nevada (Carson City, Nevada) Bighorns.

The RiverDogs, who put up a 22-11 record last season behind an impressive crop of local pitching talent, will face some of the top college players from the west during a 24-game league schedule. The season will run June through August.
