Five Medford Rogues were named to the West Coast League's top-prospect list, released by Perfect Game Crosschecker.

Of the 40 prospects named, two Rogues were rated in the top 10, with right-handed pitcher Chad Hockin (Cal State Fullerton) at No. 6 and left-handed pitcher Justin Jacome (Cal State Santa Barbara) at No. 9.

First baseman Kevin Davidson (Cal State Monterey Bay) was 19th, second baseman A.J. Balta (University of Oregon) was 29th and shortstop/outfielder Joe Chavez (UC Riverside) was 35th.

Hockin, who came to the Rogues days after graduating high school, worked himself into a starting role and compiled a 2-1 record and 4.69 ERA in 11 games (five starts).

Jacome, a freshman at USCB, arrived in late June and quickly emerged as a star in the WCL, going 1-1 with an 0.87 ERA in four games (three starts) before an inflamed elbow cut his season short.

Davidson, coming in from his sophomore year, was in the midst of the West Coast League MVP race all season, finishing with a .361 average, five home runs and 33 RBIs.

Balta, as a 2013 high school graduate, hit .280 in 48 games with 13 RBIs and a team-leading 12 stolen bases.

Chavez, a sophomore in 2013, hit .279 with two home runs, 12 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

Davidson and Jacome were named to the WCL all-star team.

The Canyon Country, Calif. native played and coached professionally for the Akron Racers in the National Pro Fastpitch league.
