WHITE CITY — The 17th annual Lon Skinner Memorial is set for Saturday and Sunday at Southern Oregon Speedway.
Over 80 cars are expected to participate, including some of the region's top Dirt Modified teams. They'll compete for a $3,000 winner's prize.
Sunday's A Main feature is 100 laps.
Gates open at 4 p.m. with racing at 6 p.m. Admission for Saturday's racing is $15 for general admission (13-61) and $10 for children 6-12, seniors and veterans with identification. Reserved seating is $20. Kids under 6 get in free.
On Sunday, the cost is $20 for general admission and $15 for children 6-12, seniors and veterans with identification. Reserved seating is $25, with kids 6 and under getting in free.
The event honors speedway promoter John Skinner's father.
The speedway is located at 6900 Kershaw Road.

LAKE LURE, N.C. — Grant Hayball of Grants Pass took first place in the Lake Lure Triathlon on Saturday.
The 33-year-old finished the run, swim and bike events in a total time of 1:06.32, besting 201 other competitors.
