Tim Seeley, a former North Medford football and wrestling standout, has been selected to play in the Hansen Senior Bowl, a college all-star football game for players at all levels below Division I FCS.
Seeley, whose last name was Endecott when he graduated from North Medford in 2006, has been a standout offensive tackle for Mayville State University in Mayville, N.D.
He started his college career at Southern Oregon University, then transferred after one year.
The Hansen Bowl is Jan. 16 in Virginia Beach, Va., and formerly known as the Aztec Bowl and the Cactus Bowl.
Seeley, 5-foot-10, 290 pounds, was a first-team selection in the Dakota Athletic Conference on a Mayville State team that went 4-6.
As a senior in high school, he was third-team all-state on both offense and defense and was runner-up at 275 pounds in the state wrestling meet.
ASHLAND — Jessica Kuehlwein, a four-year starter and three-time first-team all-Cascade Conference goalkeeper, will join the Southern Oregon soccer coaching staff for the 2012 season, said Raider head coach Jon Clement.
"We're obviously ecstatic to welcome Jess onto our coaching staff," he said. "She's had a sterling playing career here and definitely established herself as one of the top goalkeepers around."
Kuehlwein owns the SOU career mark in goalkeeper victories (38), shutouts (14) and goals against average (1.01), while ranking second in program history with 319 saves and an .816 save percentage. She closed out her career helping SOU to its first back-to-back seasons of double-digit victories.
"I am very honored to still be a part of this growing family," Kuehlwein said of the opportunity to remain a part of SOU soccer. "I hope to be a positive influence on the goalkeepers and the team. I have been a successful goalkeeper for SOU and can't wait to pass on anything I can. I believe in this team and am honored to be able to help out in anyway possible."
The Raiders placed in the 2011 conference standings.
