Crater ups record to 7-0 with win over Phoenix

CENTRAL POINT — Crater put together 12 hits and remained undefeated in American Legion A baseball Tuesday with a 9-7 victory over Phoenix in Area 4 play at Anhorn Field.

Crater led 6-1 after three innings but Phoenix chipped away at its deficit, pulling within 7-5 in the top of the fourth inning.

Hayden Glatte’s two-run single in the fifth provided the Comets with the cushion they needed.

Ike Gilliland was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for Crater (7-0), while Glatte was 2-for-4 with a run to go with his two RBIs and Jojo Johnson was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
