SOU openers moved to Menlo

ASHLAND – Persistently poor air quality in the Rogue Valley forced school officials to make a preemptive decision regarding next weekend’s Southern Oregon University men’s soccer games, moving them from Raider Stadium to the Menlo College campus in Atherton, Calif.

SOU was originally scheduled to host a four-game, season-opening event on Friday and Saturday that included The Master’s (Calif.), Menlo and Northwest Christian. The Raiders’ opponents will remain the same: They’ll play Menlo at 2:30 p.m. Friday and The Master’s at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Raiders, who were last year’s Cascade Conference regular-season and tournament champions, will debut at home Sept. 1 against William Jessup (Calif.).
