Reyes shines as Beavers topple Hawaii

CORVALLIS — Jorge Reyes struck out a career high 11 in seven innings, and John Tommasini continued his hot hitting with a 3-for-4 effort as the Oregon State defeated Hawaii, 8-4, to cap a season-long five-game home stand with a perfect mark.

Reyes' 11 strikeouts were the most by an Oregon State pitcher since Mike Stutes fanned 12 against UNLV on April 20, 2007. Reyes held the Rainbows to four hits and went longer than he has since throwing eight innings against Pacific on May 24 of last season.

He improved to 3-1.

The Oregon State offensive attack was led by Tommasini's three hits, which drove in two Beaver runs. It was his fourth multi-hit game of the season and second three-hit performance.
