Raiders add 10 to program

Southern Oregon University women's soccer coach Jon Clement has signed 10 recruits.

Clement called it a "versatile, skilled" class, and the players have "fantastic soccer backgrounds," he said.

The Raiders had a program-best 12 wins last fall. They were 12-5-2 overall, placed third in the Cascade Collegiate Conference and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals.

"We feel we made some great strides last fall," said Clement. "Our returning team is stellar, and we're poised to get all our injured players back. So, at least on paper, we have the potential to be a great team. Of course, games aren't won on paper and the challenge is high."

The recruits are Alex Balistrieri of Fullerton, Calif.; Lauren Barry of Milwaukie; Kelsey Clement of Kenmore, Wash.; Serena DeChristofaro of Martinez, Wash.; Elise DeJesse of Yorba Linda, Calif.; Paige Kilpatrick of Murrieta, Calif.; Jacquie Galvez of Temecula, Calif.; Chloe Welch of Petaluma, Calif.; Taylor Reed of Mililani, Hawaii; and Anna Russell of Beavercreek.
