OSU's Hayes honored by Pac-12

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Oregon State junior Danny Hayes has been named the Pac-12 Conference player of the week.

Hayes was 8-for-14 (.571) in the Beavers' four games, in which Oregon State defeated Portland and Washington State twice. He hit three home runs — including two in the first game of the series in Pullman, Wash. — and totaled 10 RBI with a double and four walks.

POWERS ALL-AMERICAN — Concordia sophomore golfer Sunshine Powers, a North Medford graduate, has been chosen first-team All-American by an NAIA committee.

Sara Molyneux, Powers' teammate, also made the first team, marking the first time two Cavalier players were honored.

Concordia placed 12th behind Powers (19th) and Molyneux (21st) in the national championships last week.
