Podcast: Football is alive but maybe not kicking

As broached in today's Prep Notebook for the Mail Tribune, football programs like St. Mary's, Eagle Point and Crater are among those taking advantage of an experimental rule that allows for teams to mutally agree to abolish kickoffs and punts for sub-varsity games in an effort to increase player safety and focus on teaching more offensive and defensive fundamentals during practice.

It's a rule that doesn't quite sit well with football purists but certainly one that deserves discussion. Click here to read more about it.
