Get Equipped: No-sweat shirt

Getting a workout on the trail can be no sweat, if you have the right clothing. If you don't have the right stuff, you're going to feel it.

Nothing is worse than getting sweaty and having that moisture chill you on a cold morning of trail running, hiking or bicycling. Transferring that moisture away from the body is the key to comfort.

Most outdoors clothing manufacturers have base layers, shirts, insulating layers and soft shells made of synthetic materials that will do the trick.

REI's Venturi Quarter-Zip long-sleeve shirt is made of a knit polyester/spandex blend that stretches for comfort. It also has a UPF 50-plus rating for protection against ultraviolet rays.

The fabric also wicks moisture and resists abrasion. The deep front zipper lets you adjust ventilation, and the collar is lined with soft, sweat-wicking polyester tricot. Raglan sleeves move freely and have no top seams to chafe under backpack straps.

The shirt also has mesh panels under the arms for venting. Price: $59.50 at
