Evidently Jackson County’s Board of Commissioners has agreed to pay the Medford Chamber of Commerce $1,000 for a reserved table to receive a "Spirit of Enterprise Award" during the Chamber's Sept. 14 event at The Commons.
“They award this award to governments who function like business,” said Administrator Danny Jordan, whose taxpayer-funded “CEO” compensation has now exceeded $432,000 per year, slightly higher than last fiscal year’s $411,000-plus compensation package.
Anyone who’s taken an economics class knows that business is in business to, first and foremost, make a profit, yet our elected commissioners favor sucking up to the local Chamber, using our taxpayer money — but why? For a trophy-reminder of the Budget Committee’s "profitable" subsidies for local businesses that would not otherwise be viable? In a true capitalist economy, this commingling makes no sense.
Coming from administrative staff, the recommended expense to continue supporting public-private partnerships does not square up with a true economy (one that excludes forced taxation), so how long can our ailing private sector economy survive when commingled funds exist?
If you reside in Jackson County and think you’ve never lived under a fascistic dictatorship, you’re actually soaking in it — thanks to each of your elected commissioners.
End of Trump regime
The end of the Trump administration is near. Jared Kushner will be indicted for lying on his application about several undisclosed meetings with the Russians, a felony; Paul Manafort, Kushner and Donald Trump Jr will be indicted for "corrupt intent" by agreeing to meet representatives of the Russian government to influence our election. President Trump cannot pardon all three, who will be indicted under the laws of New York, which is the major reason special prosecutor Mueller has brought in the attorney general of New York state.
Mueller will want the president to be deposed under oath. He is certain to lie. Why? Because if he was aware that the Russian government had offered to help his campaign and said nothing about it, he is committing a felony.
It is inconceivable that the president did not know about the June 9, 2016, meeting held in Trump Tower. Now it has been revealed that the Russian "fake news" group from St. Petersburg bought $100,000 in ads on Facebook. The noose is inexorably being tied around Trump's neck.
Mueller needs to hurry up his report before this madman starts a war. The conspiracy to defraud the American electorate will soon be revealed.
