Thanks for support

A big thank you to everyone who helped to make the Fourth Annual Paws for a Cause Dog Walk and Fair, benefitting Friends of the Animal Shelter, a success and fun for all.

Thank you to the participants and dogs, loyal volunteers, generous sponsors, Nature’s Pet for hosting, vendors, distributors and many more. Looking forward to next year.

Voting for Gomez

Jessica Gomez is an entrepreneur, so she already benefits our community as a job creator. She knows from experience what helps job growth, and what hurts it.

She worked with Senator DeBoer in Salem, so her learning curve will be short. As a mother of young children, children’s issues are personal to her. She boldly supports parental rights, including the right to decide which vaccines are appropriate for our own children.

In 2015, Senator Elizabeth Steiner-Hayward pushed legislation to remove that right, and we nearly lost it. California parents did lose it. No doubt anti-choice forces will try again, unless we stay vigilant.

She is the only candidate willing to publicly stand for parental choice in the vaccine decision. We can’t risk anyone who isn’t clear on this issue. We need an advocate in Salem. Please join me in voting for Jessica Gomez for state senator.

Thanks for grants

Medford St. Vincent de Paul wishes to thank the many funds and foundations which have supported our Emergency Utility Disconnect Program.

Generous grants were received from The Oregon Community Foundation’s Ames-Fluhrer Charitable Fund, the Coleman Family Fund and the Reed and Carolee Walker Fund.

We also received generous donations from Anna May Family Foundation, Carpenter Foundation, Carrico Family Foundation, Medford Water Commission, Washington Federal Foundation, Wells Fargo Foundation and the city of Central Point.

With the help of these donors we were able to help many deserving families to avoid loss of power, water or gas. Our clients, our board and the rest of our volunteers are grateful for the consideration shown us by these organizations.

We are an all-volunteer organization and all donations go directly to assisting clients. We welcome new volunteers in all areas of our work.

Call 541-772-3828 and ask for our volunteer coordinator. Training is provided.
