Apologize for U.S., then act

Dear President-elect Obama:

The first order of business for our new president should be to apologize for the atrocious behavior of our government under the Bush administration. Surely an apology is deserved for the invasion of Iraq, the torturing, the spying on U.S. citizens, the detentions at Guantanamo, our failure to deal with global warming and the U.S. actions that led to the collapse of the world economy. We have made the world a worse place for the vast majority of its inhabitants. Apologize first, and then begin the enormous task of reversing these actions.
