Eagle Point's 'Cowboy Hero,' Robert Borba, and Rodeo Clown J.J. Harrison capture a purse thief during a re-enactment at the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo in Central Point on Thurday evening. Borba became instantly famous in June of 2016 when he lassoed a would-be bicycle thief outside the Eagle Point Walmart and pictures of the incident went viral.

Ride 'em, cowboy! Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo gets underway

The Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo kicked off Thursday night to a packed audience, who got to see Eagle Point's "Cowboy Hero," Robert Borba, and Rodeo Clown J.J. Harrison capture would-be purse thieves. Events including bull riding, bareback riding, team roping and barrel racing continue today and Saturday at the Seven Feathers Resort Center at The Expo, 1 Peninger Road, Central Point. Gates open at 6 p.m. today and 5 p.m. Saturday, with shows beginning at 7 p.m. The Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo is a precursor to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association finals in Las Vegas.
