Could you provide an update on the Don McLaughlin trial? I thought is was scheduled for mid-December.
The sex abuse trial of White City Metals owner Donald James McLaughlin has been rescheduled to start on Jan. 15, according to Jackson County Circuit Court records.
One sex crimes case against McLaughlin was dismissed and another ended in a mistrial in early 2018.
The case that ended in a mistrial is being tried again, with McLaughlin facing charges of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse involving a female whose age is not listed in an indictment; first-degree sexual abuse of a girl under age 14 at the time of the alleged crime; and two counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a girl under age 18 at the time of the alleged crimes, court records show.
