Jerry and JoAnn Johnson celebrated their 60th anniversary Wednesday, Jan. 31, with a buffet reception Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Rogue Regency Inn and Suites, where their three nieces, Nancy Patterson, Brittany Parsons and Jade Parsons, cut and served the anniversary cake to the 60 friends and family in attendance.
Jerry was born in Klamath Falls and moved to Ashland in 1948. He graduated from Ashland High School and worked in the mills in both Ashland and Medford. Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957.
JoAnn was born and raised in Ashland, graduated from Ashland High School and went on to work at what is now Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Jerry and JoAnn met in 1957 after Jerry returned from serving in the Aleutian Islands. They both worked for Holiday Retirement Corp as managers of facilities in eight western states.
They have three children, Jerry Jr., Sandra and Richard. They also have one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
