Felony arrests

Hit-and-run — Christopher Aaron Kniffen, 30, of the first block of Eagle View Drive, Eagle Point. Central Point police and Medford police arrested Kniffen Friday on a felony charge of failing to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person, misdemeanor charges of possessing methamphetamine, strangulation and reckless driving, and on a sanction for violating his probation on a prior second-degree burglary conviction. He was lodged in the Jackson County Jail Friday on $37,500 bail.

Impaired Driving — Ethan Taylor Silkensen, 29, of the 13700 block of Perry Road, Central Point. Oregon State police troopers arrested Silkensen Friday on a felony charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants and on misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, recklessly endangering and driving while suspended. He remained lodged in the jail Friday on $50,000 bail.

Drugs — Marci Lynne Curtis, 49, of the 5500 block of Highway 238, Jacksonville. On Friday, Curtis made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a felony charge of manufacturing methamphetamine. She was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Herman Cortez, 46, no known address. On Friday, Cortez made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Friday on his own recognizance.

Marijuana — Jess Lee Cooper, 43, of the first block of Dion Court, Shady Cove. On Friday, Cooper made a court appearance on a felony charge of possessing more than a quarter ounce of marijuana extract and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of more than 16 ounces of usable marijuana. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Crime reports

Burglary — First block of Hawthorne Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 6:39 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a Hilti rotary hammer, a Stihl concrete saw, Craftsman chop saw with cart, DeWalt cordless drill, orange True Temper wheelbarrow, Blue Hawk air compressor and two fuel canisters. The lass and damage to two windows in the building was valued at $2,419.

Theft — 4600 block of Grumman Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle at 6:44 a.m. Thursday. About $60 worth of clothing was reported stolen.

Burglary — first block of Chestnut Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 8:49 a.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a DeWalt finish nail gun, a saw and a lock box. The loss and damage to a door knob was valued at $629.

Theft — 800 block of West 12th Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen black and red plastic toolbox at 9:38 a.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $500.

Theft — 100 block of South Oakdale Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 10:04 a.m. Thursday. A black and white cloth purse and gift certificates were reported stolen. The loss was valued at $100.

Theft — 5500 block of Table Rock Road, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen power tools at 12:16 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included two Milwaukee Fuel drill driver sets. The loss was valued at $800.

Theft — 300 block of King Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen 18-volt drill with bits in a DeWalt bag at 12:23 p.m. Thursday. The loss was valued at $150.

Theft — 2000 block of Manchester Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of stolen power tools at 2:48 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included a miter saw, power drill and bits. The loss was valued at $445.

Theft — 900 block of North Central Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 4:05 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included an iPhone 7, a burgundy Microsoft Surface Laptop computer and a wallet. The loss was valued at $801.

Theft — 1200 block of East Jackson Street, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 4:31 p.m. Thursday. Items reported stolen included Hella off-road lights, an Alpine car amplifier and hand tools. The loss was valued at $520.

Theft — 2100 block of South Pacific Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 7:26 a.m. Friday. Items reported stolen included a pneumatic air gun, hand tools, welder, steering wheel puller, dent puller, at least two paint guns and a pneumatic air gun. The loss and damage to two windows was valued at $6,565.

Theft — 800 block of Enterprise Drive, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen black and red portable generator with gray cover at 1:34 p.m. Friday. The loss was valued at $1,300.

Theft — 800 block of Mindy Sue, Medford. Medford police took a report of a stolen purple Delta Cruiser bike at 3:52 p.m. Friday. The loss was valued at $150.
