Ashland's First Friday Art Walk showcases new exhibits by regional artists

Visit galleries in downtown Ashland and the Historic Railroad District the first Friday of each month and discover new exhibits, live music, artist demonstrations and opportunities to meet the artists. 
Highlights for the Oct. 2 art walk include an exhibit of favorites in various media by 17 artists of co-op gallery Ashland Art Works. "Beyond the Vast," an exhibit of night photography by Deb Harder featuring ethereal scenes from Crater Lake and the Oregon Coast, will be displayed at Photographers' Gallery in the Ashland Art Center. More than 40 mosaic artists will be showcased at the Contemporary Mosaic Art Invitational in the Thorndike and Retzlaff galleries at the Oregon Center for the Arts on the Southern Oregon University campus.
Receptions for the artists will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at galleries and other venues. Pick up a gallery tour map at any of the listed galleries, the Ashland Chamber of Commerce or download one from www.ashlandgalleries.com.
