ACCENT on Talent event Saturday

A citywide event that boasts multiple community yard sales, a pancake breakfast and recycling dropoff is planned for Saturday, May 12, in downtown Talent.

ACCENT — A Citywide Community Event bringing Neighbors Together — on Talent, starts with a pancake breakfast at the Old Town Hall, 110 E. Main St., which runs from 8 to 11 a.m., according to a news release. Dozens of community yard sales will be available throughout the day. Maps for sale locations are available at Ray’s Food Place, 215 E. Wagner St.

Several other themed sales are available, including a Talent Garden Club-hosted plant sale, held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Ray’s Food Place, a Talent library book sale, held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the library, 101 Home St., a tomato sale, held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Talent Historical Society, 105 N. Market St., and a bake sale, held 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 309 W. Main St.

The recycling dropoff will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall. Accepted materials include used electronics, CFL bulbs (not tubes), used oil-based paint, styrofoam peanuts and metals.
